"Joe the Plumber's" credibility is an excellent example of the mind-set of many Republican voters.

Fortunately, for many reasons, the Republican Party is finished, probably forever, as a viable national party.

Only the true fiscal conservative portion of the party (about one-third) remains credible; if they are to succeed, they must organize a new party.
